Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and throw us out of balance. Sometimes that shows up as pain, tension, poor sleep, anxiety, fatigue, hormonal changes, or simply a sense that things are "off". At Yayoi Acupuncture, treatment starts with careful listening to create a personalised care plan for you.
My name is Yayoi and I am a fully qualified acupuncturist and member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).
I hold a BSc degree in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, where I studied an integrated style of acupuncture that combines Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I found acupuncture in a period of my life where everything was in flux. Acupuncture treatment gave me a safe harbour where I had space and time to reconnect with myself and the strength to navigate a scary time of a lot of change.
Whether you are going through a life transition, or you are just looking for space to decompress, I aim to provide you with treatment that will meet you wherever you are in your journey.
Acupuncture is a traditional medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. It promotes wellbeing and health by supporting your body to go back to equilibrium. Every treatment is tailored to you and is designed to support your body’s own healing mechanisms.

No two people experience symptoms in the same way. Acupuncture acknowledges this, and as such, every treatment is tailored to you on the day.
The aim is to support your immediate symptoms as well as the wider patterns and root cause in a way that feels calm, thoughtful and individual
First appointment
We start with a conversation about your health and what brought you to acupuncture.
Treatment
Each treatment will be tailored to you, taking into account your health history and how you are on the day. There is always ample space for questions and clear explanations.
Ongoing support
Acupuncture at its finest is preventative medicine. Once we finish your treatment plan, I recommend my patients come in for a tune-up session regularly. This might be monthly, seasonally, or yearly depending on what is best for you.
No. Many people come to acupuncture because they know they are not feeling like themselves and want support. Others may come because they have one or more conditions that they want support with. In both cases, treatment starts with a conversation and initial diagnostic session that is used to create a personalised treatment.
It really depends on your individual circumstances. As a general rule, for less chronic conditions, an initial set of 5-6 treatments followed by the occasional tune-up session will be enough. However, for conditions that have been present for longer, you might need 10 or more treatments. We will discuss this at the end of your first appointment so you can make an informed decision from the very beginning.
You do not need to do anything special to prepare for your treatment. However, it is best not to be hungry or thirsty, so please make sure you have had some food before you come in.
